I share with you my great joy in having been gifted the honor of a critical art review by the internationally acclaimed Italian art critic, Leo Strozzieri. His review comes at a time when I have had many deep personal challenges, so much so that they have kept me away from my brushes and even challenged my health. This thoughtful surprise has lifted my spirits, and I share it with you here:
The pictorial research of Carla Strozzieri, artist of Italian origin, is a hymn to life, to beauty, to joy. In fact, both the color and the light with which she paints are elements that give an optimistic view of the world. Each of her works is the depiction of a dream; a dream put on the canvas by a woman inwardly full of poetry and lyricism. Undoubtedly she feels in her the influence of Italian culture that we know is full of harmony and luministic charm. There is, therefore, in each of her paintings that Mediterranean radiance that is characteristic of many great masters of the country, starting from Giotto to the present day. The painting of Carla is figurative in that it represents natural landscape scenes and so it is far from certain contemporary abstract painting, because she is convinced that the master book that every artist should be inspired by is just that of the world, the real garden that was created by God as the home of man. As for her favorite artists that have been an influence, undoubtedly there is a predilection for naive art and so in the foreground stands the famous French painter Douanier Rousseau the Customs Officer. ~~ Leo Strozzieri
