A New Generation Artist at the B.AGL ART afFAIRs
Fairs, Germany, Berlin, 18 September 2013
Reinhard Stammer is breaking new ground – not only in his art, but also in his kind of self promotion. Stammer is gallery artist of the Berlin EAGL Gallery and exhibits his work at the B.AGL ART afFAIRs at the famous Postbahnhof (near Ostbahnhof station) from 18/9-22/9/2013. In addition he shows his works also by himself directly and online, for example on his his homepage and via social networks. A contradiction?

But one One thing at a time: Stammer`s often deeply impressing boldness and at the same time fragile symbolism fill international collectors with enthusiasm in the meantime. His partly very big formats try to find a sytnhesis of differing styles and techniques: figurative realism, thematic surrealism, technical materialism and drawing ease are mixed in surprising painterly collages. But his work is not lost in postmodern irony, on the contrary it reflects the strong naturalness of an authentic will to express, which is nurtured by uncountable experienced and fictional stories He will be seen again in Berlin with new works in a solo exhibition at the EAGL Gallery in Charlottenburg in 2014 – but before that he will walk new paths: he will present a really own position at the big international art show B.AGL ART afFAIRs in Berlin with a new project.

Reinhard Stammer has taken the initiative and founded a „FBA (FaceBookArtists)-Group“, where everybody who is active on Facebook can exhibit his work in real at an art fair. So he wants to build a bridge between the permanent virtual presence and the concrete sensual experience of art. Although facebook has become the core of the social network communication, and also offers artists the chance to promote themselves more and more, the opportunity to present them alive is still lacking. This project shall contribute to establish self promotion strategies of artists by social networks, because it enables additional live presence, which is necessary for the sustainable artistic succes. So a contemporary new dynamic platform shall arise in the context of digital and real presentation, beyond the trodden paths and the artistic mainstream.

So Stammer can be described as a pioneer of a New Generation Artist – he is also supported by his gallerist, Jennifer Spruß: „ We understand ourselves as a modern gallery – we don not want to keep our artists dependent, but want to grow with their initiative and awareness. Therefore we do not se his activites as competition, but as a welcome effort, to work together for the artistic -and very conscious- commercial success. We also use the possibilities of viral communication, to give as a profile in the context auf autonomous art.“
