Press release: basic text B.AGL afFAIRs 2013
no. 01/2013 sign: 6217

You are an artist and would like to discover spirited and active ground-breaking, cross-medial Art.Presentation instead of ordinary and sterile exhibition-monotony? You are a collector and would like to see new projects as an opportunity, to challenge your own intuition of suspenseful art affairs beyond the mainstream? You are a visitor and would like to get back to the original and exciting feeling, when art touches your senses and mind, varied moves, provokes, inspires, beautiful or even annoying.... then visit “B.AGL afFAIRs 2013 - Faîtes Votre Jeu!“ from 18. - 22.09.2013 during “Berlin Art Week” - make your game with all kinds of art!

Under the name and credo at the same time the independent and frequently networked B.AGL afFAIRs (Berlin. Artists Go Live) art-fair, initiated by international artists 5 years ago, expands areal and conceptual for self-expression of artists. After a huge success in a smaller scale, last at Hackescher Markt, 2013 the art fair takes place in Berlin´s creative point of intersection at Postbahnhof (at Ostbahnhof). On generous and also consolidated 3000 m² already established and potentially celebrities obtain creative positions – embedded in performances, music, new media and social network processes. With the, to the casino capitalism allusive, topic “Faîtes Votre Jeu!“ B.AGL afFAIRs wants to bring fun into the game firstly with a stage, music, rest areas, art lounge and bars (with art.cuisine and art.oholic drinks). Secondly, it also reflects its view of the established art business as a varicolored art casino in a playful way – because neo-ironic impulses instead of permanent confirmation always has been the engine of art.... in Mannerism, Dadaism, Surrealism, Pop and Postmodernism.

Beyond the week-long fair, the B.AGL Art.Croupiers want to support all participating artists and galleries in a professional way by creating a performative background-noise at the art scene with a constantly online-presence. They perceive themselves also as innovators across the marketing machine which became more and more sterile and mainstream moderate and constitutes art artificially as sacred or monopolizes as difficult, or just commercializes as a stock replacement, or even just decorates pin-up pages in design magazines in the end. Summing up, B.AGL will propel the art-game to the motto “the art is dead - long live the art!” and also make a reputable contribution to the national and international presentation of Berlin as an exciting culture-center.

------------------------------
B.AGL are... of course all participating artists and galleries, but also the three directors, better called Art.Croupiers: Jennifer Spruß, founder and proprietor of E.AGL gallery, Anja Schneider, prospective architect and gallery-partner, Thomas Hegemann, M.A., art-marketing expert and art historian.
