STONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM – FRANCE

The symposium will take place from the 12th to the 21st of July 2013 in a town of France.
The association will provide blocks of trachyte (density 2,2 - semi-hard), and/or tuff (piperno density 1,7 - tender) from Broc, up to approximately 1 m3 maximum.
The sculptors must bring their own tools, particularly disks.
The sculptors may exhibit 2 or 3 pieces Of sculpture in stone, any display material remaining their own responsibility.
Travelling costs are at the sculptor's own expense.
Food and lodging will be paid by the organization.
Each sculptor will receive a payment of 1000 Euro (one thousand Euros) at the end of the symposium.

SOCIAL SCULPTURES, VIDEO WORKS AND PERFORMANCE

Request for Proposals for an exhibit of social sculpture, performance and video works at a Museum in the United States.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one-third of adults in the United States are obese, which leads to such conditions as cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes. Annual medical costs are above $147 billion. The South is both the fattest and the unhealthiest region of the United States. In an effort to address this epidemic and other health-related issues, the Museum, has accepted a proposal for a participatory art project. Interested artists should be committed to producing a critically excellent, publicly accessible, participatory work that operates as a unique contribution toward the overall project. Paying homage to both the original and the recreated Parthenon, its architecture and societal values, selected participants will consult with the Museum curator, Greek scholars, health workers, and Metro Parks to help conceptualize their concept and feasibility of their planned artwork during a one month residency at the museum before the three month-long exhibition of artwork, to take place in the fall of 2014. Students and community members will be assist each artist to realize their projects. Residency accommodations will be provided.
The international call for proposals is open to artists of all disciplines. Three artists will be selected to exhibit inside the East Gallery. The gallery measures 1750 square feet/160 running feet. Three artists will be selected to present work outside on park grounds adjacent and dozens of artists will be selected to present sound/video/performance works at the large amphitheater located in the park.
Interested artists are invited to submit a proposal ( max. budget $8,000) no later than March 15, 2013. Completed works will also be considered. Accommodations for artists during their one month residency will be provided . Residencies are expected to be available April–September, 2014. The exhibit will take place October, 2014-Jan. 2015.

BIENNIAL OF PAINTING, PHOTOGRAPHY AND SCULPTURE – SPAIN
Deadline: 15 March of 2013
The Biennial has 6.000 Euro for the acquisition of the works. A Foundation will select two artists to participate in another exhibition on July 2012. (Stay, food, material, collective exhibition will be paid by the Foundation).
Works of painting, photography and sculpture will be admitted (not been exhibited previously). Artists can participate to any section with only one work.
Maximum dimensions:
- Painting and photography: 150 cms. of height x 120 cms. of width.
- Sculpture: 150 cms. of height x 100 cms. of width.
The theme and the technique will be free. The works protected by glass or material very fragile for its manipulation will be rejected.
In the pre-selection phase, artists will have to send photos of the work in contest and only in case they were selected they will have to send the original works.
A jury composed by prestigious personalities of the art world will select the works that will be part of an exhibition from May 10 to June 7 th 2013.

RESIDENCE FOR ARTISTS – LONDON

A London Institution invites proposals from practitioners interested in developing a new body of work culminating in a solo show in September 2013 at its centre. The organization is looking for applications from graduated or due to graduate in 2013, UK based artists, designers, performers, choreographers, writers, musicians or those that work between these mediums.
The residency will run from August - September 2013 and will include:
- A solo show in September 2013.
- £500 for production costs.
- Ongoing critical support from the curatorial team
- Technical assistance.
- Administrative support.
- 24hour access to a studio in East London.
- Accommodation for a non-London based artist.

XIV PAINTING CONTEST – SPAIN
Deadline: May 26th 2013
This XIV painting competition foresees only one prize of Euro 5.400.
Artists born or residents in the European Union can participate. The introduced works will have to be original and of free theme.
Every author can introduce only one work, realized in the years 2012 or 2013 that has not been
rewarded in any other contest, until the day April 19 th 2013°.
The introduced works will have a minimum format of 100x81 cm. The technique will be free.
An exhibition will be organized with the selected works in the Social Center of the association, from the 11 to the 26 of May 2013. The winning work will remain ownership of the association included the rights of edition and reproduction of the same one.

COMPETITION FOR DIGITAL IMAGES “ACTS OF KINDNESS” – ITALY

Call For Art, International Association of artists organizes an online contest of digital Images on the theme of "Acts of kindness ." In a world more and more dominated by the egoism, the violence, fear and overcoming, the contest is aimed to bring the accent on the value of the gentleness as expression of the positive part of the human soul, of its ability of empathy and connection with the other beings, of its benevolence.
Call For Art therefore looks for images able to awaken and to promote the gentleness and the benevolence in every individual, images that go straight to the heart and speak of another possible way to live and to interact in the human society and with the natural environment.
The contest is open to artists of any nationality. Every artist can participate with only one image.
The required digital images can be reproductions of paintings, sketches, drawings, graphic design or photos, digital manipulations, video still, related to the theme "Acts of kindness".
The original file must have the following dimensions:
OPTIMAL: cm. 50 in the largest side, 200 dpi (3937 pixels, in the largest side).
MINIMUM: cm. 50 in the largest side, definition: 50 dpi (984 pixels, in the largest side)
The original file must be reduced to be sent by the online procedure, but every participant will have to keep the original file.

Euro 1000,00 gross + 1 free year of registration to the services of Call For Art
The contest will be entirely judged by the staff of Call For Art.
The winning artist will be announced by September 07 th 2013 and liquidated through bank transfer by one month from the closing of the contest.
The contest will take place on line only. Candidates will send their images through direct upload on the web site and they won’t have in any case to send the original printings. The images of all the candidates will be visible to the public at the section "Competition acts of kindness" of the web site. The jury will evaluate the images directly viewing them from the web site. Besides the winning artist, a maximum of 20 images will be selected for their possible printing and exhibition in contexts to define.
