Katarina Balunova is a slovakian
artist that lives and works
in Turin. She exhibited different
shows in Italy, in her country
of origin, Slovakia, and in other
countries as France, Austria, Poland,
Cypro, Egypt and Turkey.
The place is the main theme she
focuses on, she sees it as a certain
area inside the world. Each
place has its own past: birth and
life until the finish line, death. The
inspiration of Balunova is the city
as the scenery for the lifetime.
The structure of cities of nowadays
is subject to a strict geometry
and it is in perennial expansion.
The number of elements
and visual sensations grows, the
city expands, changes and becomes
a living organism, “a living
entity” that holds us and imprisons
us inside its wonders.
