The dialogue between the photographers Silvia Bottino and Maria Chiara Maffi is a two-way process that revolutionizes the language of photography. With ‘Rasoterra’ [Close to the Ground], Bottino’s project, the camera changes perspective, rests on the ground and photographs material elements leaving to chance the actual result- which is alienating and at the same time impactful because of its ability to provide a different point of view. With ‘I have brown eyes’ Maffi proposes negated portraits, subtracting the gaze from the overall vision, ironically portraying the world of appearance, where the garment becomes an identity card.
