A project that the photographer has been carrying out for about a couple of years; a work in progress that wants to lead, in an easy and fun way, towards a deeper reflection on new technologies at the service of the photographic image.
The desire to return to the basic elements of photography, light and time, is linked in a new way to new technologies through experimentation - which Silvia Bottino has always focused on in the design of her projects - the act of literally supporting the mobile phone 'height of the ground and shoot, thus re-reading the environments through the current and fresh look provided by perspectives never before implemented. This is how the shots of natural landscapes, of snow and sea, or the most anthropized ones, are born, as is the case for the New York skyline. The technique is that of shooting with the phone, an instrument now essential in our daily life, which - thanks to the technology applied to cameras - allows today without the clutter of the camera lens to actually shoot at Raso Terra, capture the plot, the materiality of what is in the foreground, in dialogue with the image in the background.
Even small-sized photo prints - with wooden frame mounting - allow immediate use of the work and are linked to the idea of selfmade, of speed and ability to capture the moment, conceptually at the base of the new research of the Milanese photographer.
But attention is not paid to Fine Art: this is how the limited edition print run was created by the author for collectors who wish to have the prints of the #rasoterra project on archive paper and with museum durability.
Silvia Bottino was born in "dark room" in Milan. Daughter of art, after finishing her artistic studies, she begins her working career first as an assistant to her father, Franco Bottino, and then as a professional. He deals with various languages of photography such as: still-life, portraits, beauty, industrial photos, advertising, interacting directly with the client or through advertising or public relations agencies.
