Fifty years later, Florence commemorates that natural disaster (which unfortunately was followed by others throughout the Italy, even recently) through a series of events, including this exhibition, which presents works by 14 artists from around the world.
The purpose of this exhibition is primarily to promote respect for the planet, knowing it and also considering its unpredictable aspects. We must always remember that we are part of an environment that surrounds us and entertains us but we are not the owners.
The mix of man and nature become a growth relation and an ongoing exchange, provided that there is no abuse of one on the other.
This theme is explored by the more than 30 artworks on the show, according to various aspects and viewpoints. Showing the organization that is created between humans and the surrounding environment, or observing the simplest and the most complex natural elements, these authors present us various ways to really living "with" nature, as the title. Other ones are focused on the outcome of a wrong and violent approach to the nature.
The exposition, curated by Anna Mola, is composed of paintings and photographs by 14 Italian and international authors: Eloise Amadei, Giulia Bacchetta, Paolo Bongianino, Luciano Caggianello, Jane Cowles, Michele Franceschini, Jane Gottlieb, Magdalena Hohlweg, Rachy Kang, Anne Sophie Le Penru, Katerina Machytkova, Uros Paternu, Andrea Schwery, Alice Zilberberg.
At the inauguration of the exhibition, included in the calendar of the Review of Etoile Toy Visual Arts / Visual Art Florence promoted by the Florence Dance Center of Marga Nativo, Saturday, September 17 will be presented a choreography of Benedetta Ghiglia inspired by the works of artists curated the FloDance Corps.
