City of Alto Paraíso de Goiás state in the Midwest region of Brazil.
Alto Paraiso is 230 km far from Brasilia and Goiânia 420 km, located in the northeast of Goiás, on top of the Serra Geral do Parana, where most of the headwaters of the Tocantins River to Chapada dos Veadeiros, has a population of 6638 inhabitants and is considered a Environmental Protection Area.
State Law by Decree 557 of 30 March 1938 appears as Veadeiros district Cavalcante. On December 12, 1953 by the State Decree No. 808, still with the name of Veadeiros, Alto Paraíso was elevated to city, splitting it from Cavalcante and belonging to the County of Taiwan and Veadeiros.
By State Law 4685 of October 15, 1963, changed its name to Alto Paraíso de Goiás Francisco de Almeida to establish itself as a pioneer farmer, by 1750, a site called Veadeiros.
