Kobe is an ancient city founded during Heian era (794 a. C. – 1192), which is famous for Genji-monogatari. Kobe is located on the see with a wide port with a long tradition in international trade. The commercial relationships with foreign counties allowed the contact with western culture. Kobe inhabitants have long earnestly appreciated and researched the best goods with innovation in mind, but always keeping Japanese tradition in mind.
During this exhibition vernissage, connected with Milano Expo 2015, we will have the honour to present the excellent Washoku – Japanese traditional food that will introduce the guests to the discovering of Kobe’s Japanese culture.

During vernissage it will be possible to taste the original Matcha and Sencha tea from Wakayama (produced by Gyokurin-en since 1854); Miso soup from Kagoshima (produced by Kinshou since 1950) and Piccolata – a characteristic pizza which is possible to find in Kobe (produced by Mitsuwa since 1913).

These foods will accompany the contemporary calligraphic artworks referring to traditional SHODO and photographic arworks about Japan.
