PRESS RELEASE
Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 6:00pm, the Villicana D’Annibale Galleria D’Arte of via Cavour (Arezzo) will inaugurate the exhibit of painting by Silvano Fabbroni, entitled Amalgamate. The exposition, curated by artist and gallerist Danielle Villicana D’Annibale, will host a selection of recent works by the Aretine painter. The exhibit will continue at free entrance until Thursday, October 18, 2012.

Silvano Fabbroni is a figure who is living an artistic and spiritual rebirth.
His strength is his constant desire to grow, learn and share with others his personal and pictorial experiences which have marked thus far his life.
The title of the exhibit is unequivocal. As the art historian and art critic Michele Loffredo stated, who will curate the presentation of the exhibit, ““amalgamate” is a word of Arabic origin which indicates union, or the alchemical aggregation of two substances to obtain a third one.”
A third essence is stronger and richer than the first two. Because it is what happens when we unite ingredients or people; it is what happens when two cultures such as the occidental and Arab are merged.
The present works of art, fruit of the most recent artistic phase of Fabbroni, are intriguing and fascinating. Lands and distant architectures which refer to the stories of the princess Shahrazàd, water as means of purification previous to entering in contact with a superior dimension, the letters of the Arab alphabet, set in a complex system of symbols.
These last ones, in particular, form a series of nine works of art, of which it is possible to extract meanings on various levels: the letters as symbols of communication and learning, because in life there is always something to learn; the alphabet as basic route to a respectful and humble approach to a new faith; writing, with its curvy elegance, as pure and delicate ornament.
The notable abilities of composition and technique of the artist, united with the meticulous attention for detail and the inclination for a rich chromatic spectrum, are all elements which elevate the spectator to a new world, made of love, light, and tolerance amongst all peoples. A message, today as never before, of great interest.

Brief biography of Silvano Fabbroni
Silvano Fabbroni was born in 1957 in Arezzo. In the Seventies he attended the Art High School of Florence, where in 1976 he founded with a group of classmates the Oltrana Group, noted for their performances in the "dada" spirit. After receiving his diploma, he parted for a long voyage in India, first of an itinerary which took the artist all over the world and prepared him for the road of an expressionist abstract and figurative vision.
In the Eighties, the painter exhibited in various cities in Tuscany. The sojourns in the Middle East, India and North Africa bring colors and ideas. The spatial aspects and the forms were revolutionized, the landscapes altered.
In the early Nineties the exhibit he had in his city of birth entitled Weak subjects, curated by Michele Loffredo, represent the sum of a decade of great creativity. Afterward, he passed a period marked by a solitary withdrawal, prelude to a rebirth which took place after a voyage to Mexico.
With the new millennium, he began a new phase. The long permanence in Morocco brought the artist to profoundly explore new cultural and existential frontiers. The typology of works have become more intimate. On this wake Fabbroni continues today his research, after having returned to live and work in Arezzo.
