Friday, September 28, 2012, at 6:00pm, the Villicana D’Annibale Galleria D’Arte of via Cavour (Arezzo) will inaugurate the exhibit of photography by Enrico Borgogni, entitled Naked Flower. The exposition, curated by artist and gallerist Danielle Villicana D’Annibale, will host a selection of feminine figures of by the Aretine photographer. The exhibit will continue at free entrance until Sunday, October 7, 2012.
Enrico Borgogni is a master of what is often called the “eighth art.”
The strength of this photographer is his continuous desire to experiment. Borgogni uses complex and varied techniques and moves freely between all areas of photo thanks to the wide range of photographic instruments in his possession, obtaining the most original and innovative solutions.
Assiduous researcher of the image, with a particular inclination for auto developing film and instant photography, the artist is able to configure something new and different than it appears, but in the end ascribable to his remarkable vision.
He moves with authority between still lives, portraits, female nudes, landscapes, glimpses of the cityscapes and reportage, experimenting forms, light, and compositions where underlined are always the joy and exaltation of the beauty of the authentic, without frills. An artistic strength, that of Borgogni, comparable to one of the great masters of the Renaissance.
In the solo exhibition at the Villicana D’Annibale Art Gallery, the principle protagonists will be the feminine nudes. The harmony of the forms of the free women, strong and secure of themselves, represented with delicacy and respect. The immortalized models in old farm houses or immersed in the purity of nature, represent the unforgettable “naked flowers” of the Tuscan countryside.
Contemporary with the Aretine exhibit, Borgogni will be on view in the Iso600 - Festival of Instant Photography, and important gala which will take place in Milan from October 4 to 7.
Brief biography of Enrico Borgogni
Enrico Borgogni was born in 1953 in Arezzo. He began to photograph in the early Eighties and since then his activity has been incessant, with solo and group exhibitions throughout Italy. The photographer is a member of the Photo Club “La Chimera” of Arezzo as well as the Polaroiders, also known as the “instant” Italian artists.
Spending time with figures of world fame, such as the Swiss Philippe Pache and Americans Paul Elledge and Robert Farber, brought him to travel and compare with greats of photography, from which he has received appreciation and consensus over the years.
