PRESS RELEASE
Saturday, September 15, 2012, at 6:00pm, the Villicana D’Annibale Galleria D’Arte of via Cavour (Arezzo) will inaugurate the exhibit of painting by Pasquale Marzelli, entitled Oblique Flight. The exposition, curated by Californian artist and gallerist Danielle Villicana D’Annibale, will host a selection of recent Tuscan landscapes by the Aretine painter. The exhibit will continue at free entrance until Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Amongst the events offered during the exhibit, on Friday, September 21, 2012, Marzelli will be interviewed by art historian Daniela Meli.

Pasquale Marzelli is a unique artist. What distinguishes him in the Tuscan contemporary art world is his rare ability to combine abstract and figurative painting, superimposing one on top of the other with an agility and naturalism which fascinates whomever observes his art work. The Aretine artist takes the best from the two artistic experiences and unites them together in an original formula, representing landscapes and his surroundings with a vitality, freshness and subjectivity.
The works of Marzelli are a sort of poetry which awakes profound emotions. A gestual painting, fluid and full of liberty, but at the same time attentive to details illustrated with a methodic study and understanding of light.
Brilliant and natural colors captivate the spectator. The olives and cypresses, which touch the sky with the grace of their crown, inspire feelings of peace and harmony. Only one who profoundly understands the Tuscan countryside and the magic of its rustic dimensions could capture on the canvas results so convincing.
A complete painting – traditional and modern – which leaves one dreaming and reminds one of a life full of passion, simplicity and positive vibrations.
