The Town of Osnago, in collaboration with the association Oloart and the art group Capitolozero, with the sponsorship of the Region of Lombardy and the Provinces of Lecco and Monza-and-Brianza, is promoting a new edition of the exhibition BODY VOICES - a cultural and artistic event that, after taking place in 2009 and 2010, is now biennial. The exhibition is aimed at promoting and spotlighting contemporary art by finding an audience for artworks with a common theme.
The exhibition will take place in the town of Osnago from 8 to 23 June 2013. The exhibition area will cover several different locations that spread all over the town.
The sections dedicated to Sculpture and Installation (including Site specific Installation, Land Art, BioArt, etc.) will be realized in open places, where the artworks will be displayed throughout the whole event (16 days). The sections dedicated to Performance, Butoh Performance and Video Art, instead, will be the object of two special weekends: 8-9 June and 15-16 June.
This year, for the first time, the organising team is joined by the artistic ensemble CAPITOLOZERO, a brand new factory that represents the will of many innovative artists based in the Province of Lecco to be actively present in the area.
THEME INTEGUMENT
Barrier or passage? Boundary membrane or opening? Each organism - including the world as a whole - is enveloped by a protecting membrane, a sheath that filters the relationship between the inside and the outside, and controls their exchanges. The extreme limit identifying a body in the environment is called INTEGUMENT.
This is the theme of the 2013 exhibition.

GUIDELINES FOR THE SINGLE SECTIONS:
SCULPTURE AND INSTALLATION
Artists can apply with up to three proposals created with any technique and expressive form, and in any shape. Exhibits will be displayed in several spaces that are made available by the Municipality of Osnago and arranged by the curators in advance. All the locations are in open places and therefore potentially exposed to harmful environmental conditions. It will be the author's responsibility to design his/her artwork in order to prevent any potential damages. All the materials that artists need to organise and assemble their art objects - including transportation - are chargeable to the artist. Artists are required to guarantee the stability and safety of their works against potential damages to the work itself and to people and/or objects. The organisers cannot be held responsible for thefts or acts of vandalism against art objects.
Exhibits will be displayed from 8 June to 23 June. After that, artists will have to collect their works from the premises within four days. Unremoved artworks will be in charge of the organisers, who will consider every single case separately.
Should you have different needs, please write to: info.lavocedelcorpo@gmail.com
MICRO INSTALLATIONS
For one single day, 19 artists will be provided with a small 45 x 70 cm space, corresponding to one of the 19 marble tiles composing the short wall located in Trento Street. The work will be filmed with a work-in-progress documentary to be later published on the website www.lavocedelcorpo.it.
PERFORMANCE, BUTOH PERFORMANCE AND VIDEO ART
The Panel of judges will grant artists locations for staging and performing their shows depending on the characteristics of each single project and on the days that have been scheduled for every specific art form.
Performances and screenings will be held both in open venues and in closed locations. In case of bad weather, all the open air performances will be staged at the Spazio Opera Fabrizio De André.
Performances and videos must not exceed 10 minutes. They can be supported by an audio track or music, which can be either recorded or live.
Every form of expression is welcome as long as it does not go against general morals. The Panel will select artists and works in total freedom. Artists are required to provide all the materials they need to produce their artworks. The actual production/building of the exhibits is responsibility of the artist. Upon request, the organisers may collaborate to the production/building of the installation with voluntary workers.
A video of the exhibition will be produced for screening on the web channel Vimeo and publication on the exhibition's website www.lavocedelcorpo.it. Materials and videos of the past editions can be found on the website www.oloart.it
Interested artists are invited - but not obliged - to include a brief cv (not exceeding 4,000 characters) with details of their artistic activity or to indicate a website or other links where any relevant information about them can be found. Applicants are strongly recommended to send their registration forms as soon as possible in order for the Panel to assess every project quickly as well as very carefully.
