Exhibitions, Italy, Pavia, 10 November 2011
The vast pictorial work of Louis Lomanto the beginning, in the fifties, until his death in 1997 this exhibition is deliberately very simple, drawn on a Lomanto favorite themes - landscapes, animals, animals in landscapes, still lifes and portraits, portraits and female figures.

In Milan, the fifties to the art world that revolves around the Brera, the dominant theme of the debate is the antithesis between figurative and non-figurative. Among the artists who choose to research the field of representation, motivation and formal solutions with very different, there is also Lomanto. In affirming the right, which is both the duty of the trial Lomanto, like many other artists of his generation, he also feels an imperative "moral" in the sense of a morality of making art, devoting herself to her consistently and responsibly research, beyond ideologies or sides of the controversy between formal. His choice, to work on the reality of bodies (human and animal) and the nature, takes on a totalizing in his life.

Recent exhibitions of drawings by Louis Lomanto in two galleries in Milan (in 2009, first at "C. Groff & Company arts and crafts," then at "the merchant of prints) have rekindled interest in the work of this original artistic personality that shells from the fifties until the end of the last century, characterized by a continuous, passionate research on forms of reality: reality from which excluded all realism is anecdotal, but it is always present on the investigation of volume and counterpoints movements, shapes and colors.

Christopher De Amicis in 1975 it looks like all his work is "set to the correct correspondence between the plastic and pictorial values, leaving nothing to chance and improvisation, but without losing sight of what is in him, over time, has become the assumed primary the pictorial: the generation of light. "

Ample space will be given to its production of designs drawn with a sign to light and sometimes filiform, sometimes thick and dense, ever restless and quivering.

A framework of its activities, with equal effort divided between the individual research and teaching, (for twenty years in an art school in Milan, then in his busy private studio) would not be complete without an appearance in the exhibition also works of his students.

Among the exhibition's curators, Professor Anne Fennel, which has been active for many years, especially in the field of nineteenth and twentieth centuries is currently a board member of the Milan section of our Italy.
