Cheap Art Farbe der Stadt (City Colours)
Exhibitions, Greece, Thessaloníki, 22 June 2009
Cheapart is the most organized contemporary artistic movement, and the only context art gallery in Greece. Founded in 1995, it continuously works on promoting new trends and ideas. It has come into contact with a wide public – 75.000 people - in Athens and Thessalonica, and has given the opportunity to more than 400 artists mid career and established Greek and International artists - to communicate new ideas to a broad, demanding public of varied social groups.

cheapart is an open place for artistic experimenting and research.

„Farben der Stadt“ is a site specific photo installation from the ceiling.
The images of this work try to represent the town of Nuernberg in Germany.

This work was a challenge with this grey and static town lacking of colour and motion and it aims to give it intensity and to brighten it up through the exploration of hidden colours.

The shots have been taken in motion and the pictures have been mounted in such a way that one has the impression of the colours in motion.
The pictures hang from the ceiling and they twiddle and twirl through the air.
