The new collection of paintings by the artist Giorgio De Cesario along an interesting route between news events as advertised in the media in recent months. Many "designers" of the past had shown with their images the most striking events of their contemporaneity, especially at a time in history when the lack of the most basic means of communication left plenty of room for creativity
of these "artists", often anonymous artists or known only to insiders. How can we forget, in this connection, the graffiti of primitive men, or the illustrated covers of "Domenica del Corriere" in more recent times? Today, computer, television, camera, video camera, etc.. pictures broadcast any time of the day or night and in every corner of our global village, so much so that some of theseimages become very often "icons" of an event. And it is precisely from these icons Giorgio De Cesario began his path. Thechange is the transfiguration of these symbolic images, not just playing graphic-pictorial but a reinterpretation of all the details, a reworking by fantastic color and color effects. Here is explained the title of this collection: from current events to fantasy. The fantasy is a literary genre that developed in the second half of the nineteenth century, and its dominant features are the myth, the supernatural, fantasy, allegory, metaphor, symbol and surreale. In this line fall those stories of fantasy literaturewhere it is lacking any scientific explanation of the mysterious and surprising. From the literature, the fantasy was quickly extended to the media, especially in film, television, comics and, in particular, to video games. And 'then the symbiosis and osmosis of these two worlds, the reality of the present and the unreality of the fantastic, which arise new works by Giorgio De Cesario. There are, however, all the elements that have always characterized its production: its unique technique of faces in clay in relief on canvas, real earrings on the lobes of thefemale characters, color schemes is very bright in the background that in the representation of all dettagli.Il draws once again the
gaze of the viewer, transporting yes in a fantasy world, but at the same time, leading him to reflect on what is today's world: adramatic scenario where mental illness, superstition, superficiality and ignorance cause unspeakable tragedies. The artist, one of the founders of '"Alienismo" new artistic-cultural movement presented in Rome in February 2012, intends to latch on to the principles of this movement, offering its fans a new interpretation of contemporary reality: superarela drama quota to regain hope and optimism, suggest new areas to the imagination to give breath to the creativity, to show the world new colors to liven up the various shades of gray of everyday life. Speakers include representatives of local institutions and numerous personalities in the culture of Salento. The exhibition will also be open to the public in the following days until 28/02/2013 and then move elsewhere in the regional and national level within a timeframe that will soon be announced.
