Guatemala. Tierras Mayas 1/2
Workshops , Guatemala, Guatemala City, 31 December 2011
What certainly affects the ancient Maya lands, lying between the western highlands (highlands) and the jungles overlooking the Caribbean Sea (lowlands), is the explosive vibrancy and presence of color of its people, silent and proud inheritors of glorious peoples.
The myths and legends of the Popol Vuh, a book that collects the essence of the different ethnic groups that inhabited the lands Quichè, are found, not only in the stones of forgotten cities in the lush jungles, also in the faces carved and in the traditional colors of the clothes: a pride of membership far.
The aggression of the time and men, by Don Pedro de Alvarado to the last guerrillas, has never managed to scratch the wrinkles of the past that have furrowed faces and hearts of men, always mindful of what their origin, now partly hidden by trees, but definitely present in the tradition, in the language, in the humility of the glance.
