Composer bold, expressive painter, sculptor, inspired, innovative tradition, Luigi Guarino disorients us and then we moved. Put together for us fragments of lives, ruins of ancient barricades in the space of pleasant neighborhoods, traces of ancestral struggle between good and evil, and then waits. There is nothing simple and decisive of Guarino art that takes more the form of an archeology of decline, where the remains lie buried under a thick blanket of stratifications of the worst we are capable. The artist does not judge, but it forces us to look, not to turn his face. It's one of us.
Signs, forms, compositional webs line the porous surface of a canvas, as in the clay-stamp of rebirth and purification (the shadows of the soul), but we emerge from unlikely allegories and even violence.
In the work of Guarino's almost an eagerness to the absolute. The ambiguity of the dichotomous effects is just a channel for spiritual liberation, fueled by the use of pungent black on white, with an appreciable tendency towards minimalism and synthesis.
In the complexity of his plots graphics, we are struck by the look of compassion, the artist has for human weaknesses, the dignity that still offers its "missing" Lost peolpe who deny their own worst inclinations, looking for a ransom.
Psychotherapeutic and sincere, the art of Luigi Guarino is a polished effort toward self-improvement. Men and women in the defect of his own humanity, we are wrong and try again, never losing hope of finding.
