PRESS RELEASE
It doesn't end here!
The art of ALF on exhibit in Arezzo from November 7 to 21, 2014
At Via Cavour 85 in Arezzo, on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 6pm, will inaugurate the solo exhibition of painting and performance entitled It doesn’t end here! of Adele Lo Feudo (ALF), Italian artist from Cosenza. The exhibition, curated by Danielle Villicana D’Annibale, will host twenty-one recent works, all acrylic on canvas, exhibited for the first time ever in the city of Arezzo in Tuscany. The exhibit will proceed, at free entrance, until Friday, November 21, 2014, with the following hours: Tuesday to Saturday, from 4am to 8pm and by appointment.
On the occasion of the inauguration, ALF will also realize the performance entitled Spes. Among the collateral events, we mention the event Saturday, November 15, at 6 pm, by the title Beyond the gate: correspondence; where some paintings will be associated to passages of prose written by artist, essayist and screenwriter Stefano Maria Baratti and interpreted by the actor and director Francesco Moschini. A catalogue will accompany the exhibit, created by Danielle Villicana D’Annibale, and will include a critique by the same Stefano Maria Baratti.
The exhibit
Two of the greatest mysteries for the human being are birth and death.
Where do we come from? Where are we going? Is there another life after the last breath that we exhale in this world? The painter from Cosenza, Italy, although from Perugia by adoption, exclaims that, “It doesn’t end here!”
In this way, she saves us the fear, the horror, the nightmare and the pain of the inevitable passage and she fills us with hope, one of the most notable gifts for he who believes.
Adele faces this thematic with a deep sensibility as well as with a good dose of irony, tenderness and optimism. Twenty-one works that, taking inspiration from details of valuable marmoreal sculptures present in the monumental cemetery of Perugia, they go to constitute a real celebratory poem to life and the recovery of lost values.
Also, the artist, essayist and screenwriter from Perugia Stefano Maria Baratti, reminds in the catalog of the exhibit, that that part of the Umbria cemetery taken into examination by the artist is as "…fragments of a first-person’s journey through the rather unknown cemetery of Perugia. It is an itinerary that intentionally excludes bystanders while experiencing a spatial array of visual and psychological sensations available to the artist’s observation: symmetry and asymmetry, order and disorder, layers of architectural styles, neoclassical statues and bas- relief, baroque motion and ornamental arabesque, a grandiose spectacle of dramatic perspectives." A place that, always for Baratti, "…seems to reconcile matter and spirit, universal and contingent principles, physical and metaphysical realities, ultimately illustrating the limits of our human condition.”
ALF, with her art, lavishes light on the darkest moment of our existence… death. A unique research and a solo exhibition that, with the combination of painting and performance, goes to challenge and exorcise the "grim reaper."

Brief biography:
Adele Lo Feud, in art ALF, was born in Cosenza in 1967.
After classical studies and a degree in Law from the University of Salerno, she moved to Perugia where her life changed by taking the direction of art. She graduated with a diploma in interior designer and taught for seven years in the field, and then began painting again and achieved a diploma for teaching art.
Thus began her artistic run, participating at first in group exhibits and then, since 2010, more and more in solo exhibits.
ALF is also an organizer of events, such as “A Pink Petal…as to not forget”, where she involved sixty-five artists in a program against violence on women in 2013, including the donation of the works successively to Perugia and Cosenza. Also in 2013, she began her activity as performer.
The artist has participated in the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Salerno, to the event “Artists with a catalogue afterward” (“Artisti con catalogo al seguito”) held at the Museum of Paper and Filigree in Fabriano, and recently, in the group exhibition “Jewels of contemporary art - Made in Italy!” held at GOLD/ITALY at the Arezzo Fiere and Congressi.
Her works belong to important private and public collections.
