Biennale Adriatica Arti Nuove
Residences, Italy, Ascoli Piceno, San Benedetto del Tronto, 11 August 2006
GAZEaBOut are islands to be discovered and explored, where to run from or to stay in, including seats platforms and steps. They are oasis which were conceived according to the place where they are located and made of the material that was found in that same place. These wastes are as solid and mouldable as new materials would be, and they overlap and form layers to create new liveable spaces. They are nests depending on the recovered material, so heterogeneous and unpredictable that a precise and prior design of the project is impossible, in favour of improvisation and uniqueness. They are woods where the visitor finds himself/herself in, just in the middle of a whirlwind of abandoned and forgotten objects, as the ones the visitors own, recalling universal habits. They are memories. They are wobbly tables, abandoned kitchens and old creaking doors which are re-assembled and get a new life for a specific occasion, and when this is over the GAZEaBOut will be disassembled and the material recycled, waiting for a new transformation or a new life.

gazeabout#06 was designed for BAAN 2006 Biennale Adriatica Arti Nuove (Ascoli Piceno) within the session whose curator was Cristiano Seganfreddo.
The installation had a 15 x 8 meters base and was 8 meters high. The work was set out on nine columns, including seats and relax areas, connecting the upper level.
