The digital graphic: my diversity of the image

“The girl is two girls?”: a woman with four arms and four legs is an image that I like to define brief because is elaborated by a computer throughout a digital handling. Its aim is the creation of a symbolic mini-world; the legitimacy in its own code.
We are dealing with an image-language, which structures a proper universe of symbols using a procedure called nonmaterial because is based on abstract logical-mathematical processes, the computerized ones.
Naturally, we’re moving in a symbolic environment which has nothing to do with the experience because it’s the representation of the mind.
In order to give a practical example, I want to take as a landmark the life inside a metropolis. If I were to take some photos and draw what I see, I would end up making an objective description of that environment. Instead, if I submit those photos at proper graphical digital effects dictated by my sensations in that place, then I can express my interior part, because those images-manipulated-would have shadows, colours and deformations or, even more, would be reformulated and rebuilt using a code which is my way of perceiving, totally subjective.
So, the re-elaboration of images implies a process of transformation of a given image in order to obtain a new one. It is said that this process combines with that of the integration, which is the composition of a new form, of a new object, using different images given.
Then, what I used, isn’t an application totally linked with the professions of technical design or marketing, of which effects can be those of a “service creativity”, of a recreational and spectacular type like that largely used by advertisements and cinemas; not the logic of the falsification or the dubbing of the real under the form of hyper-reality, at which the publicity has used us, but, finally, the creation of a diversification of the image in opposition with the anonymous media re-individualization.
I think that this is the new and finally radical way to express “the revolution of our time, the cybernetic and internet in the first place, of which consequence on the social level is the strengthening of the perversity of the globalization, which is the diffusion on the planetary base of the ideology of the marketing capitalism and of the principles of the western democracy” (Demetrio Paparoni, Contemporary art and its redefinition): the use of the same means that the system has created in order to fight the same system and help the art retake a predominant intervention field and for the time lost.
