Again, the viewer is to consider whether Pina Della Rossa is a photographer or a painter who paints he photographs. This is the question raised by his photographic works. In them, both when capturing the fleeting moment, both when subjects are "constructed", emerge strongly chromatic aspect never casual and passionate care for the composition.
For the occasion, Marco Di Mauro wrote: "... The Neapolitan artist turns to the size of the painting without distortion or artifacts elaborative those who undermine the objectivity of the image, but through the roughness of the surfaces covered with vegetable filaments as they are discovered, that visually recall the strokes of color. The artist, in essence, gives the picture an embossing effect of pictorial matrix, which makes visible and concrete on his training: from a mental creation, full of emotional values, his photographic translation, where the emotional components are sublimated by a marked pictorial imagination that helps to free themselves from the physicality of photographic realism. The image, then, is emancipated from the scientific application photographic stimuli to accommodate extra-sensory ... "
Mario Franco writes, among other things, "... the photographs of Pina Della Rossa: pictures of details, in fact, pictorial images, metaphors, synthetic, taken alone, looking around with eye inspired and involved. Images in which, in spite of the brevity (pictorial or analytical, is to be discovered), re-creating, as in the theater, a staging where game and discomfort, disturbance and magic, ensnares the viewer. Branches thick and skinny, where rarely a flower springs, ghosts of the daily landscape peripheral: a reality that proves to be a nightmare, a landscape polished and distressing. Painting and photography intensive dialogue between two modes of representation, thus in relation different languages R03;R03;within the same image ... "
The photograph, as he writes Alessandra Pacelli, "... happily left behind the idea that he forced her into the enclosure of realism, the objectification, the truthful documentation of the contemporary. The ability to stop the moment, the here and now as it is. But the gaze of the photographer traveling in a time machine, rummages in the past between dust and ghosts to carry in actuality. And in the images of Pina Della Rossa here is in fact sudden appearances, fingerprints, footprints. But even pictorial signs, architectural compositions, profiles that emerge from the mold of a crumbling wall, by the woven webs of dry branches, from rusts iron bars that surround lands without a name or windows sunk in the dark, from the cracks in the wooden doors stubbornly shut, perhaps closed on past memories, memories torn, words without appeal ... "
Assumption Pagliuca writes "... wall and roots, two elements narrative in which the artist, Pina Della Rossa, free their subjectivity, with accents in an emotional intimate perspective. A wall that is holding back a freedom that he wants to become contaminated in the storm of life, in an unstable dynamic in which everything is born and returns. Wall arcane and gray, powered by living roots that penetrate almost to regenerate the state. A tangle trace a path that winds twisted and intricate combinations of colors, from bright to dark and formless and defined. Lights and colors express the places of a mind that is lost in the plot of a space and a time interrupted by contingency. The skilful photographic technique builds striking stylistic evocations, illuminated by a light that creates a depth essential ... "
