EGOSUPEREGOALTEREGO Face and Body in Contemporary Art
MACRO Via Nizza
Type: Contemporary Art
The exhibition analyzes the face and body in contemporary art, with a focus on the face and body of the artist who is self-represented and / or, in turn, is represented.
Thus it becomes a way to deepen and demonstrate, in concrete art itself, one that is historically defined as "genre painting", with reference precisely to the self and to the portrait and, if we want to expand the name in contemporary terms to selfie.
The exhibition offers an analysis of the face and body in contemporary art through the exhibition of works in which the artist himself is self-representing (among others Vito Acconci, Franco Angeli, Giorgio de Chirico, Plinio De Martiis Stefano Di Stasio, Giosetta Fioroni, Gilbert & George, Francesco Guerrieri, Urs Luthi, Carlo Maria Mariani, Bruce Nauman, Cristiano Pintaldi), works in which the artist is "represented" by another artist, as in the photographs of Claudio Abate, Mark Delogu, Mimmo Iodice, Nino Migliori, and even works in which the artist portrays himself but another character, but where can meet and mirror, as in the works, among others, by Ennio Calabria, Candy Candy, Giacinto Cerone, Mariana Ferratto, Luigi Alders, Luca Maria Patella, Arnulf Rainer, Sissi, Sten and Lex.
