The term "water" encompasses a multitude of meanings that sometimes are difficult to express in words. That the Reclamation Consortium of Media Plain Bergamo decided to inaugurate an art competition to artists, professionals and non-residents in the area of Bergamo and without age limit.
Inspired by the theme "Water: invisible borders", participants are invited to create true works of art. Understanding how water transparency and purity, a vital resource, almost invisible, that goes beyond all boundaries and holds within itself the secret life of the poetic and metaphorical.
The competition, stimulating new ideas and artistic research is aimed at the promotion and awareness of environmental issues related to protecting water resources of our territory, which are often wasted or undervalued. The organizers have decided to split the competition into four categories, which correspond to four different artistic techniques: painting, photography, animation and video installation sculpture. Each artist can participate with more works, but only one of those attending the award of the prize. Participants are invited to submit work by Saturday, April 10, 2010 at MediaTek Communication, street carnivals, 31-24126 Bergamo.
The jury will select 20 works from among those received, five in each category, which will be presented in early May at the Urban Center in the center of Bergamo. Quality, research, contemporary el'attinenza the theme will be the key criteria for selecting the best work.
The big news of the art competition is an innovative method of awarding the prizes. During the final exhibition, in fact, all 20 finalists will have a preferential voting in each of four sections. Two points will be awarded to vote by the artist in his category, while the preference exercised in the other categories will be worth one point. In this way the same finalists will contribute directly to choose the winners.
The artist receiving the most votes in their group will be awarded a grant of € 1500, which will be delivered directly at the closing ceremony at the Urban Center.
