Drawing on psychologist Jung's theory of The Shadow as the suppressed or disowned qualities of the conscious self, Shadowside casts a light on the dark and primal instincts of the human character.
Featuring artwork from Beth Carter, Mercedes Helnwein, Kate MacDowell, Yuko Nasu, Mike Newton, Ione Rucquoi and Bobbie Russon the exhibition brings us face to face with uncomfortable and often eclipsed aspects of the self, illuminating ambivalent feelings about sexuality and motherhood, blurring the line between the human and the beast within.
