PIETRO PASOLINI | Portraits
Exhibitions, Italy, Roma, 04 December 2014
Following the decision of the Rome International Festival to dedicate this year’s exhibition at the Macro to photographic portraits, RossoCinabro is delighted to present the images of artist, Pietro Pasolini. Numerous portraits illustrating the lives and stories of individuals from isolated communities will be displayed from the 4th to the 10th of December. From an early age Pietro Pasolini has been fascinated by photography. Having attained a diploma from Saint Martins, the university of the arts in London, he departs for a six-month, solo journey across Asia. Inspired by photographers such as Jimmy Nelson and Steve McCurry, this young artist chooses to focus primarily on portrait photography, with the aim of immortalizing the faces of those who inhabit remote and secluded areas. Having a great deal of admiration for Salgado, Pasolini prints almost exclusively in black and white; akin to the Brazilian photographer, he believes that colors do not allow us to fully grasp the character of the person being portrayed. This exhibition is the outcome of many years of traveling and shooting, and wholly illustrates the artistic journey that Pasolini has undertaken over time. All photographs shown are numbered and are part of a single limited publication.
