AQR. Codec Proverb.
The art at the time of smartphones.

Saturday, December 17, 2011, will be inaugurated in Bologna, at the Galleria Wikiarte, AQR. Proverb codec, the new and innovative collection of Francesco Di Santo. The vernissage will begin at 18 and the exhibition will be open from Saturday 17 to Saturday, December 31, 2011.

AQR. Proverb codec comes as a synthesis between past and present. The collection consists of nine large canvasses, made of enamel on canvas: each painting is a geometric figure and highly colored. The outline of the figures immediately recalls the shape of the QR code for rapid response recognized by smart phones. The colors - three for each canvas and concatenated according to the harmony of the color box - identify the location and visual appearance of Francesco Di Santo, research sensitive and emotional about the subject and the hidden text in each work.

The paintings are so intrinsic to switch the connection from the ancient to the present and the material dimension to the virtual one. The proverb Oral technology materializes in the code related to each painting: drawing, reading from the device, resulting in the proverb relating to the theme of the picture.

AQR. Proverb codec uses the smartphone technology to make the viewer interact with the work, seduce him with the new technology to discover the values of an ancient tradition, through the tools that owns and operates continuously in his daily life. The works on display offer a starting point for a reflection on the inevitable transformation of the communication processes. The traditional label that accompanies the paintings indicate, in addition to the title, the QR code of the painting: once with the camera framed the code - similar to the painting in question, but in black and white - you create the link to the web page, containing the proverb hidden.

The viewer is immersed in toto in the act of the author and art can live and relive the experience at different levels: the immediate vision, its use of technology and the reflection on themes inspired by Di Santo and revealed through the titles, proverbs and texts related to the works.

Wikiarte The Gallery is located in Bologna, Via San Felice, 18.
