Mediterrando

MEDITERRANDO the exhibition of Mariangela Calabrese is a prologue and landing of a metaphorical journey into our confidential and veiled world among the fragments of the territories of the soul; but it is also a container for those emotions that tell the hope and the drama of the migrant's paths, as the beginning and outcome of a journey in which to grasp the key concepts of the project: travel, bond, detachment, struggle, salvation, return .... These are the main themes, where an open formal concession - raised by figurative reminiscences, which comes to visual references by Rothko, Klein, Twombly as information of ideational, vital and passionate energy - suggests intense colors, thematic info and insights to detect the fragments of our concerns. To create a symbolic and expressive itinerary that goes from air to land, to water, hovering and crossing between the three elements. Shapes and colors stand out on the canvas to draw the space, just as it happens in our interior "surface", or in the emotional sensitivity of everyone.
