drawing instalation
”home is where I am. at the vineyards. under the apple tree. with you”
ADRIENN KISS or in other words how a dream of rock n roll fame through poetry mutated into a special passion for drawing. Adrienn graduated in Vienna at the Academy of Fine Arts in 2008 in the master-class of Gunter Damisch, where she studied print making and painting. Since then, she lives and works between Vienna and home town Györ.
Medium that defines her is colour pencil drawing. Although her figurative, realistic images usually are carefully planned by deliberate digital preparatory process, the end-product still is a technically completed freehand drawing – on paper (drawing without any use of technical aids such as projection or grids).
In a broader sense, her work deals with reflecting the historically established innervations of the cultural and religious views and`draws` parallel through a contemporary or postmodern conception. She focuses on the formation of identity and the individual, where her starting point bases on her personal experiences and/or aspects. These are later in the creative process placed in a wider and more universal concept and presence.
Her project HOME ALONE is a collage of impressions and memories of an idyllic home. Her two-week stay @ D’CLINICstudios, she primarily used for “wandering” (around), gathering of new experiences. These fresh impressions were then built into her recent topic, namely the relationship between home and identity.
