The show “Coincidenze”, an itinerant show where “Il Bisonte” is the third stage, is open on Wednesday, the 3rd of July, at 6.00 p.m.. The realization of this explanatory project, that wants to show up a new generation of engravers, arises from a long work. At the beginning it was a meeting of friends that later became a meeting of artists who believed in this dream: a bit ambitious for these bad years for the art world but real. Little by little different types of purposes arose and then developed. These ideas came from the comparison among artists and from the awareness that the ancient engraver art had the necessity to be purified from the ancient dogmas concerning it. Without any kind of presumption we would like to open a main door concerning the future of engraving that many people think to be too old to be considered modern, too meticulous and alchemic to be true. The truth is in the point that scratches, marks and tears and in the acid that corrodes the plate by showing, in this way, the realest part that through the press allows a closer dialogue between the author and the public. This project wants to present a selection of engravers coming from different parts of Italy: Cremona, Vicenza, Rome, Matera, Florence. They want to offer a wide range of works based on the love for the engraving and for the art print. This isn’t an exhibition where the artists can recognize themselves in only one work or trend but, how we can understand starting from the title, this is an exhibition of stylistic coincidence based on the different experiences of these years and on an individual artistic world that is alive thank to an ancient, modern and sometimes experimental technique. This complicated path brings the artist to the realization of this event which takes place in different parts of Italy in different Public Institutional spaces. This event has been strongly supported by different artistic fields like: “Associazione Culturale Quartiere3” (Cremona), “Stamperia d’Arte Busato (Vicenza), “Associazione Culturale socio ricreativa Stamperia del Tevere” (Rome), “Associazione Incisori Grafica di Via Sette Dolori” (Matera) and the international graphic school “Fondazione Il Bisonte” (Florence). This amazing show wants to show up and to spread the engraving and lithographic modern language. It also wants to put in evidence the peculiarity and the several approaches to the graphic world by explaining the different traditional techniques: chisel, graving tool, etching, aquatint, woodcutting, dope and other traditional techniques generally used separately one from another or associated to other more experimental techniques. All these procedures are always used by respecting the rule of originality. A careful selection among 25 of the best young talents of the Italian engraving scenario will exhibit two works each during the whole show.
