For the centenary of the birth of Michelangelo Antonioni, International artist Silvia Camporesi, attentive to the suggestions coming from cinema and literature, has developed a specific project for the MLB home gallery. She creates a visual path in which to renew the perception of "the disease of feelings" that Antonioni taught to recognize.
In the exhibition, curated by Massimo Marchetti, are presented a video installation and photography. The video is a staging some "downtime" typical of the films of Antonioni, where female characters who act in space, but ultimately do nothing, create expectations frustrated. The video is accompanied by a story in pictures evoking some recurring themes in the narrative. Honoring the typical drama director, where the story initially structured canonical quickly falls apart and reveals all its ambiguity, the images are developing a new story indefinable and elusive.
The Photos are interspersed with larger photos with movie scenes never entered in the movies and movies never producted. All this elements contribute to create a new film that invokes all the films of Antonioni. The idea is to create a kind of Wunderkammer that evokes the film and forced horizontally reading. A background sound, made by mounting the sounds of various movie source, generates the "sumptuous soundtrack sounds" that Antonioni wanted to achieve.
