'Thief of bicycles', an exhibition by Nicola Villa at Bellinzona gallery of Milan, until 31 December
21 November 2013
The exhibition is a direct homage to the painter Tino Vaglieri (Trieste 1929 - Milan , 2000)
one of the leading Italian artists of the late twentieth century.

The show revolves around 'Biciclette', a work created in 1955 by Vaglieri which portrays
a group of four frightened workers supported by the handlebars of their bicycles.
The bicycle represent the only thing that belongs to poor workers and the hard work of living.

Nicola Villa reinterprets its in the contemporary context , presenting a series of ten
hand-colored engravings.
Villa makes a kind of reportage on the theme of bicycle, now caught between a group of kids from the Bastille in Paris, now
before the smiles of children in Africa.

Nicola Villa won Painting Prize on 2007.
