Petition for artists: you can change!
20 May 2013
Hello Rosy,
When we launched the petition to express our solidarity with the new Minister of Integration Cecile Kyenge and ask for disciplinary action against dell'europarlamentare Mario Borghezio, for his racist statements, did not expect to be able to collect over 130 thousand signatures and to open a debate on the network travalicasse national borders.
Yet it went like this: the petition is forcefully landed in the offices of MEPs from different countries, affected by widespread outrage in Italy against a colleague who had insulted a minister. Donna. Nera. 130 thousand signatures so that did not go unnoticed and have prompted some parliamentary groups from the "Groupe de l'Alliance des progressive Socialistes & démocrates" to ask for a meeting with us, the promoters of the petition. This was only possible thanks to your signature.
For this reason we will be Tuesday, May 21 in Strasbourg to meet with MEPs from different countries to deliver 130 thousand and ask them to publicly distance itself from the sentences spoken by fellow League Borghezio. And I will also ask the President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz. Then meet foreign journalists to present the result of our petition. Ours, and that of all those who have signed it to express their indignation. The resignation of Borghezio may not come, because the Regulation of the European Parliament not expected, but the blatant disapproval of many MEPs against fellow League will be for us a brilliant victory!
There are still a few hours meeting with the MEPs. Let's show everyone what we have achieved with our signature: public this photo on your Facebook Wall and leave a comment.
Thanks a lot,
