The "right below" is the right of the author of works of figurative art and manuscripts to receive a percentage of the price of each sale of the work subsequent to the first transfer by the author.
This right found his first recognition in France by a law of 20 May 1920 and is known as droit de suite. The rationale behind this law is that the works of figurative art, unlike those belonging to the field of music, literature or theater, can not be the subject of different and successive exploitations. It, in fact, "maximum materialization" of works of figurative art as the work can not move without their original media, then, the author, once sold the work, stripped of all his right to economic use.
