Non-Reflex_2

Analogue Photography, Still life, Landscape, Analogue, 115x90cm
Ephemeral sculptures made with mirrors were placed in lakes, intervening the landscape and provoking a reflex game where the landscape is “folded” on itself. The mirrors integrate to the landscape but also cause a fracture on it, producing a bizarre appearance. Perception of reality, photographic representation of the real and visual deceive, are all issues addressed in this project. The photographs are optical illusions, almost abstract images with “imperfections”, where what seams to be the horizon is actually its reflection; the reflex, the simulation, is taken for the original. No digital alteration was performed (no photomontage); a 4x5 film camera was used, a non-reflex camera in which the image appears as we see it in these photographs: upside down.
