Our Pix(S)elves

Our Pix(S)elves

Installation, Human figure, Fantasy / Visionary, Portrait, Various materials, 221x221x150cm
Pixels: bright and colourful, but what would happen if some will be darkened and implement a censorship? Black squares would obscure the complete and utter vision so much desired by man, deform the initial information distorting the original meanings. “Our Pix(S)elves” revolves around the idea of vision, crossing time and space. The appearance is a pixel, a transparent veil that wraps the real. The distinctions between different places and times drop down, like in our global society. Everything is visible, shown, communication. There are no roadblocks, everything is seen and open like in social networks where every fragment of life is shared and then absorbed. Our view is enriched with new visual points with search engines, satellite maps, photos and cameras show us everything we want to see and our view would never have thought of being able to see. From our pc, we can master everything. Using a projection point out the absence of real body and the virtual presence of a body. Shimmering is reigning in the installation, this shimmering in the shimmering of our society based on communication, which is both an expression of being and masking, alteration, distortion and censorship.
