The Nationality of Animals

The Nationality of Animals (2001-2011) is made of salvaged, old fur coats made of sheepskin and rabbitskin. In my work I mostly employ salvaged and recycled materials such as leather, fur and printed matter. Often I install the organic materials outdoors, thus leaving the materials under the influence of weather and possibly animals such as rodents, birds, parasites.

My aim is to explore the cultural and historical connections of people and domesticated animals/nature. The relationship is inseparable - we are dependent on animals though the animals are not always dependent on human activity.
