They have plundered the earth, polluted the sea, torn nature, committed the great crime against the environment and all humanity. In the environmental disaster of the Gulf of Mexico, the crime committed by human greed takes the form of an immense black stain. The stain, an archetype that for many civilizations incarnates blame and sin, is not only the symbol of evil but is itself the reason for evil, a bearer of misfortune and destruction, capable of exterminating all forms of marine life and upsetting the natural cycles. The blame that the great stain reflects is the greediness of humanity, the consequences of which humanity itself will pay personally.
