La gabbia
The cage is lit only by the beam of the white light of a videoprojector and its shadow looms on the wall of the room.
Visitors are invited to touch and shake the cage to activate the installation.
The gesture is not analyzed in the real world but in its representation in shadows’s world, the viewer acts on the cage but the reaction is realized in this intangible world, like a relationship between the real world and Plato’s hyperuranium.
The ideas and thoughts spurred by the viewer out of the cage are reflected in the shadow of the birds flying toward the newly acquired freedom.
