The Vale of Soul Making

The Vale of Soul Making

The title of the artwork comes from the words of poet John Keats, who defined the world as “the vale of soul making”, the same idea which was borrowed and emphasized by philosopher James Hillman.
The work is the result of a research aimed at overcoming the limits of matter and gravity, which have always conditioned art making, by means of permanent magnets generating a magnetic field capable of producing levitation effects.
Gravity and magnetism, primordial forces of the universe, finally balance eachother, just as the substance of the material world with the dimension of the experiential soul
