LE CHAT
I lived abroad for a while, and now I'm still back in Italy. Corruption scandals, television, media: always tuned to dead defaulted. I often work on victims, on mental and physical annihilation. In this case - dazed by relentless images, plots at the edge of madness, pursued by the shameful news of the macabre - I tried the represent absence of life, body-object which once was looked, and now is still looking. A silent suburbia, life flowing, parks, nature as unaware theater. I used just some objects to mean death: a plastic manquinne, a gun, a cat’s face (symbol-face of trap), a fake hand. I tried to put them in a hypothetical route, where I found bins, steps in the car yards. Sounds terrible, as such as pain. And the stillness of remembering. A basic editing tries to emphasize the static nature of the offense, the extinct, of the murdered human - frozen in nearly 300 shots – into dynamic movie of short sections of daily life (or the beginning of?. And more. Maybe REWIND?).
An old woman walks. A bus passes.
Things are silent.
Another one.
Another VICTIMS.
(Le chat or the chats, what's more dangerous?)
