House Series 1

House Series 1

Painting, Architecture, Landscape, Oil, 133x123x3cm
The first of the House Series paintings. This work references film and theatre. It appears as an empty stage set, waiting for the viewer to project their own narrative. Created by the artist, the architecture is hard to place. The paint surface is incredibly flat in most areas, although it is combined with thicker, juicier areas of paint. There is an exaggerated, twisted perspective. combined, these elements produce an extremely physical, three dimensional image that almost protrudes from the picture plane.
