Installation, Still life, 600x150x500cm
Micro worlds- created with objects and sounds coming from deserted industrial sites- are displayed in a window case in the ruinous attempt to “sell” slices of emotional processes kept under a reliquary theca.
Emporio 996/04 was born after three experiences deeply connected with the subject of the residual. The first stroke has been the theatre of installations within a industrial area using materials found in situ, with the aim to get in symbiosis with the surrounding rich in history and vegetation, an operation of mimesis and devotion for a place in decay in already deeply urbanized areas.
The second step has been object of a video of the whole area shared in two separated pictures: the vegetation overhanging and surfacing from the ruins , and the works growing up from the rubble as they were growing on a perfect or ideal ground.
The product of these trips is a number of buried or abandoned objects, delivered by the time, objects which , like in the irresolute spaces of Gilles Clément, found their shelter.
In the final stage, objects video and sound have been hold inside glass windowed cases, landscapes picked in the moment of the decomposion , garbage taken as relics in the precarious sanctuary of the neglected.
