I wanted to start from the concept of Zero in portrait to get a self-revelation of the subject, who is more than just passively portrayed, but instead it actively participates in the creative process. I overturn the creative concept of the photographer as the active subject who acts on the passive object of the picture. This time the passive one is the lens, still on its tripod, only able to record the passing of time. But if there is not the zero (according to the DeSaussurians algorithm there is a signifier and a signified but the sign, the "object" of the concept of zero is missing), I should represent a body that actually is not there, but in some way it would inevitably appear because of the loss of the concept of the portrait itself. Here therefore the body is entirely hidden though still presented in the abstract, its extremities are helping it to emerge. There are approximately 170 meters of rope hiding the body of the woman, and she totally reveals herself to my lens. Nevertheless that revelation could never be complete not even with the total will of the subject, since one side continues inevitably to be stuck in the darkness, far from being objectively known.
