Apple..Care

Apple..Care

Sculpture, Still life, 40x33x23cm
Tales of the past and our “primordial” mythology suggest that a simple red apple would lead into temptation even the clearest sentient person. The extraordinary perfection of such a pop(ular) fruit can draw even the purest of souls, giving comfort and reassurance. However, it must be handled with extreme care.

The temptation has an irresistible magnetism, but a single inappropriate gesture is enough to catapult the throwaway seductive perfection and purity of the apple into oblivion, the smiles into endless silence. Thus, we are quickly immersed in a never-ending, irascible addiction, with no remedy.

It is the mirrored surface of the apple that offers the only guarantee to our suffering: we know the clock runs backwards and the apple will soon shine, in a sparkling explosion.
