BLUE IDEA - space between land and sea

Installation, Abstract informal, Political / Social, Landscape, Organic material, 400x350x400cm
The installation of MONE is a social sculpture with the idea of growth, development and metamorphosis without an end, like changing processes in nature.
The beginning of this installation is in 1999 until now 2010 and there is no end.
MONE asked her friends to bring her sand from seashores of any ocean of this world in her studio. “It would be nice to bring me the sand in a bottle”.
Sand is a material, which connotes the symbol of time, changing, motion and connection of liquid and solid material like water and stone. The people who bring the different bottles of sand to MONE are fulfilling a conscious action of decision.
In the bottles of sand peoples carry their feelings of vacation and freedom, their longings, perception of listening, speaking, feeling of sun and warm sand, of the beating of the waves…..
The bottle of sand is a immaterial present for MONE. When people bring the sand they tell a lot of their journey. They write their name and place of find spot of sand on their bottle and place it an a canvas between all the other bottles.
Now in 2010 the installation contains 120 bottles of sand from different persons from the seaside of the Baltic Sea, North Sea, Atlantic, Pacific, Bering Sea, Indian Ocean, etc.
