How do water molecules form such incredibly complex sculptural qualities under the simple influence of thermally unstable air? One Scientific theory (and there are several) implies that clouds are sculpted by natures amazing talent for self-organisation, sometimes known as 'Chaos theory'. Chaos theory suggests that every whisp and bellow within a cloud comes as a hugely magnified result of something completely unrelated somewhere and sometime in the universe! On the face of it this seems ridiculous so In an accompanying work to this painting, 'Voyage key', I map some of my actions from a recent and very insignificant trip to my local bank! Chaos theory suggests that every single action taken during my financial voyage may or may not have resulted in the formation of the cloud system that moved me to pick up the paint brush in the first place...
