Fetish Destruction n.14

In this collage, which is part of the series of artworks entitled "Fetish Destruction"
I imagined that an urban scene, apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic, took place as framed by a cold metal surface. In order to create this atmosphere I used a PC component.
This element supports a scene where a female foot seems to be engaged in making the shoe dangle. This sort of action occupies the left side of the scene while an apocalyptic view is present to the right. The work can be read on two levels.
From one hand there is a scene that is solved by the college technique which has to be considered as a very interesting technique, typical of the avant-gardes but which is still alive today and which always gives extremely interesting and captivating visual solutions.
The second level of the artwork could be defined as "objectual".
It is much more than a simple collage, it is much more than a simple picture.
it is a work-object, more similar to a sculpture than to a two-dimensional work.
A brush repainted in golden colour which, in the context of this scene, appears mysterious and perhaps alludes to a last attempt at a birth or at a rebirth.

The most interesting object that increases the surface and makes this work-object even more capable of occupying the space and playing with it is the perfectly functioning golden rubber calculator, which seems to invite the viewer to use it to type a number, perhaps a date when the end of humanity could take place.
Perhaps, instead, this calculator is an invitation or rather a warning to prevent all this events from happening and to find the right solutions to safeguard the system in which we live, the planet Earth, and thus to preserve our own existence.
