Indomitable

The model for this piece is an Irish Sport Horse mare named Sandra (her stable name, at least). I've never ridden her, though she did leave an impression on me as she's quite spirited. I remember photographing her under a drizzle and was delighted when she turned around to look at me. Wanted to paint this ever since I took that photo two years ago, and finally got around to doing it.
